Pakistani TikTok creator Shamsu Bibi, also known online as Ayesha Gilamana, was fatally shot in Taxila on August 14. Police are investigating the killing and working to identify the attackers.

Pakistani TikTok creator Shamsu Bibi, popularly known as Ayesha Gilamana on social media, was killed in a shooting in Taxila, near Islamabad, on August 14, according to police and reports citing her family.

Bibi was 28 and had reportedly built a following of around 1.3 million on TikTok. Her death has prompted questions about the circumstances of the shooting, with investigators examining CCTV footage and the allegations contained in a complaint filed by her father.

Shamsu Bibi was reportedly called outside her home

According to the complaint filed by Bibi’s father, Fazal Sahibzada, his daughter received a phone call from a man identified as Kashif, also known as “Kashi”, shortly before the incident.

She reportedly left her home after receiving the call. Bibi was travelling with her 15-year-old sister, Aseema, and her brother, Naimatullah, when the shooting occurred.

Reports say the attack took place near a petrol pump. Bibi suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and later died.

Her sister was also seriously injured after the vehicle crashed following the shooting.

Bibi’s father said he went to THQ Hospital Taxila after learning about the incident and identified his daughter’s body at the mortuary.

Police examine CCTV footage

Police are investigating the killing and are examining CCTV footage obtained from the area.

According to the reports, footage showed two people fleeing the scene on a motorcycle after the shooting. Investigators are working to establish their identities and determine what led to the attack.

The complaint reportedly states that the attackers were two unidentified men believed to be around 30 to 35 years old.

Bibi’s brother Naimatullah is said to have been present during the incident, and her father has stated that he could potentially identify the gunmen if they are brought before him.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the identities of the alleged attackers have not been established publicly.

Family alleges threats linked to a money dispute

Bibi’s father has also raised allegations concerning a financial dispute.

According to his complaint, his daughter had been involved in money-related issues with two individuals identified as Kausar and Javed, also known as Shaheen.

The family has alleged that Bibi had received threats connected to repayment of money and had previously filed a complaint against the individuals in Islamabad.

These allegations form part of the family’s account of the circumstances surrounding her death. They have not been independently established as the motive for the killing, and police have yet to publicly confirm a motive.

Bibi’s family is seeking legal action against those responsible for the shooting as well as the unidentified attackers.

Shamsu Bibi’s large TikTok following

Bibi had reportedly accumulated approximately 1.3 million followers on TikTok, where she was known as Ayesha Gilamana.

Her substantial online audience has become part of the discussion following her death, particularly after reports about the size of the gathering at her funeral circulated on social media.

Some reports claimed that only around 10 to 12 people attended the funeral. However, the reported figure should be treated cautiously unless independently verified.

The claim has nevertheless triggered wider conversations online about the difference between social-media reach and a person’s offline relationships.

A case that remains under investigation

The circumstances surrounding Shamsu Bibi’s killing are still being investigated.

Police are examining available CCTV footage, statements from witnesses and information provided by her family as they attempt to identify the people responsible.

At this stage, the alleged financial dispute and reported threats remain allegations rather than an established motive.

The investigation will need to determine who carried out the shooting, whether the individuals named in the complaint had any connection to the attack and what circumstances led to Bibi being targeted.

For her family and followers, the case has left behind both a personal loss and unanswered questions about the events that led to the 28-year-old creator’s death.
