Aditi Shankar has voiced her support for Anupama Parameswaran following the latter’s recent candid discussion about a difficult personal experience.
Anupama’s comments have prompted considerable discussion among fans, with several people debating the experiences she described and the broader issues surrounding unhealthy relationships. Aditi, however, said she chose to focus on the courage it took for Anupama to speak publicly about something deeply personal.
Aditi Shankar Praises Anupama’s Honesty
Speaking during the promotions of her upcoming film Once More, Aditi discussed Anupama’s interview with Galatta Plus.
She said she had watched the conversation and appreciated the actor’s decision to share her experience.
“I recently watched the interview given by my fellow actress Anupama. Everyone may have their own opinion about it, but I want to say hats off to her for having the courage to share her own story. There was honesty in what she said.”
Aditi also said she did not believe Anupama’s intention was to attack or insult another person.
Instead, she viewed the interview as an account of something the actor had personally experienced.
‘It Can Create Awareness Among Many People’
Aditi went on to explain why she believes conversations about difficult relationships can be useful to others.
“I feel her intention was not to put anyone down. The experience she shared can create awareness among many people.”
According to Aditi, people can sometimes remain in emotionally difficult situations without immediately recognising what they are experiencing.
She suggested that hearing someone openly discuss a similar experience could encourage others to examine their own circumstances and identify unhealthy patterns.
Her comments therefore shift the focus away from speculation surrounding Anupama’s past relationship and towards the broader issue of awareness.
Anupama’s Comments Sparked Online Discussion
Anupama has previously spoken about a past relationship that she described as emotionally difficult. Her decision to discuss the experience publicly led to widespread reactions online.
While some discussions have focused on trying to identify the person she was referring to, Anupama has not publicly named the individual involved.
Aditi’s response similarly avoids speculation about the identity of the person concerned. Instead, she emphasised the importance of listening to someone’s account of their own experience.
That distinction is particularly relevant when discussing personal allegations publicly, as assumptions about unnamed individuals can quickly turn into unverified claims.
Aditi Shankar Promotes Once More
Aditi made the comments while promoting Once More, her upcoming romantic drama directed by Vignesh Srikanth.
The actor, who is the daughter of acclaimed filmmaker S Shankar, stars opposite Arjun Das in the film.
The story follows two individuals from different backgrounds whose lives intersect, leading to a relationship that challenges their contrasting circumstances.
Once More is scheduled to release in theatres on August 28.
For Aditi, the film adds another project to her growing acting career, while her comments on Anupama’s interview have placed her in a wider conversation about relationships, emotional well-being and the importance of speaking openly about difficult personal experiences.
